This summer, we paid a visit to the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, a must-stop if you are around.

Set against the backdrop of the desert hills, the former motel was redesigned in 2009 by the Ace design team in collaboration with LA-based studio Commune. They bought many Californian artists and artisans into the project. All together, they created a place where it definitely feels at home.

176 rooms, two big pools, a feel good spa, a high-quality restaurant and even a hall that you can book for private events, it has it all! In-tune with the desert vibes, there are plenty of intimate alcoves where you can gather around the fireplace and thus, enjoy the warm evening in a laid-back atmosphere.

While some rooms have a garden patio or a private fireplace, all interiors are decorated in a contemporary bohemian style. If you are lucky, you also get a record player and old vinyls to play music in your room.
