Emerging designers of the Greenhouse 2017

Before heading to Milan for the coming design week, let’s take a last look back at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2017. Each year, the Greenhouse showcases the work of up-and-coming designers as well as the projects of international design schools.

Some of today’s leading designers such as the GamFratesi studio have exhibited their first creations in the Greenhouse. This year, about 30 talents have gathered in Stockholm to present their latest collection, in a scenography by the Swedish Form Us With Love.

Here are the design studios that have caught our attention.

Founded in 2015 by Arash Eskafi and Yu-Ching Chiang, the Stockholm-based HAHA Studio presented its impressive lighting collection. Made of brass and aluminum, this curvy pendant lamp is available in steel blue and gold.

Graduated from Kolding Design School in Denmark, the Italian industrial designer Alberti Bellamoli showcased its Collecta range made of Terrazzo. Consisting of marble waste and concrete, this material has been used for centuries in the region he grew up and got back in the spotlight last year.

The Berlin-based design studio YUUE founded by Weng Xinyu and Tao Haiyue, both alumni of Bauhaus University in Weimar, exhibited the interactive portable lamp Bento. With its flexible silicone lampshade, its built-in rechargeable batteries and small storage space, it always stays by your side!

Based in Canada, Knauf & Brown and Tom Chung studio joined forces to present their latest products in Stockholm. The Knauf & Brown was recognised as the fair’s Rising Star with its sophisticated collection composed of the Keefer Credenza, a floor and a table lamps as well as a mirror.

Guro Sørbø Midtun and Siri Line created Studio Føy in 2016. The design duo based in Oslo revealed the soft and poetic Stable collection with warm hues and different sizes that combine in endless variations.

The Finnish designer Maija Leskelä presented the Puffin Collection. The feminine and elegant chair features a leather back and seat that can slide off and be replaced.
