From iconic pieces to collections created by local designers, Forme+Confort offers a wide range of furniture and home accessories since 1962. Located in the heart of Fribourg’s old town, the interior boutique is full of treasures that delight design enthusiasts.

During this month, a Scandinavian breeze blows through the store. Among the Nordic brands showcased at Forme+Confort, such as Carl Hansen, Louis Poulsen and Light Years, the Fritz Hansen collection has caught our attention. Even though the iconic Egg armchair and the Swan chair have been designed by the renowned Arne Jacobsen in the late 50s, the brand has never ceased to expand its timeless and refined range.

Last April, at the Design Week in Milan, the Fritz Hotel staged by Jaime Hayon, took up residence in the heart of Brera Design District. In this ephemeral showroom where Art Deco, Danish and even tropical influences joyfully blended with each other, the brand presented its latest novelties. Several pieces of the new accessories line have been signed by the Spanish designer. True to the clean lines of the design house, he has created the elegant brass candle holders, the plaid Throw and its bold patterns as well as the Ikebana vases that honor Japanese floral art.

The Pair™ chair designed by Benjamin Hubert, founder of the London design studio Layer, has recently completed the brand’s historic seat collection. With its minimalist aesthetic, this stackable and ultralight chair harmoniously combines materials and textures. The wooden seat, the polycarbonate back and the chromed steel legs are crafted with care. With or without armrests, this new creation comes in 80 different combinations.

While Fritz Hansen has been celebrating Scandinavian design for 145 years, it is time to let the Nordic spirit take over your home for a festive summer. As the mid-sommar fast approaches, flourish your tables, light up the candles, gather your loved ones and enjoy memorable evenings.
