48°North Hotel by Reiulf Ramstad Architects

Between the Vosges mountains and the Alsace region, perched above the French village of Breitenbach, 48°Nord Hotel celebrates slow living. The eco-responsible hyttes designed by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter offer an intimate atmosphere and a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape, an invitation to reconnect with nature and enjoy the simple joys of life!

In the heart of a protected natural site, sleek, wooden silhouettes emerge from the landscape. Set into the hillside, the 14 hyttes of 48°Nord Hotel have been designed by Norwegian Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter, using natural and locally sourced materials, with the aim to preserve this Natura 2000 area. Focusing on the essential, the minimalist, yet welcoming, interior of each cabin offer a soothing ambiance, while making the most of the beautiful surrounding panorama.

With an eco-responsible approach, the hotel combines local cultural heritage with Scandinavian traditions of architecture and hospitality. Fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown directly on the site, which is certified organic. It’s only a hundred steps from the vegetable garden to the dining room! With other local goods, they are skillfully interpreted by the Chef who serve fresh, seasonal cuisine that is as delicious as it is refined, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Away from the hustle and bustle, this nature retreat proposes a holistic experience of joyful sobriety. Every effort is made to foster well-being and encourage relaxation. Sauna, Nordic baths and treatment rituals invite to unwind and enjoy the present moment. Here, luxury is expressed in calm and simplicity, in the quality of the time spent in the heart of this magnificent natural setting.
